High strung & OCD - I can't enjoy life! Help!?!


Question:

High strung & OCD - I can't enjoy life! Help!?

I guess I am not asking how to treat OCD because I was on a depression medication before and it seemed to make it worse, in fact, that is sort of when it started.

Well I'm always uptight & high strung. There's plenty of stress in my life just like every one else I try to deal with it. College, moving, marriage. The thing is for the past five years or so I've had this distinct feeling like I am missing out on a huge party some where. All the time, every one else is having fun some where and I'll never make it. I've never really had many friends in school. Plus the OCD doesn't help because I'm always checking windows in my car, light switches, volume knobs, status of clothing- is my shirt crooked?!!

Just asking for advice on how to enjoy life? I mean for hells sake I can't go to bed without completing a ritual of brushing my teeth, & other very specific things. I want to be able to go for a ride in the car & enjoy it. I always feel left out & like I've reached no goals-Make sense?

Plus my fiance is great and she's my best friend. We have been best friends since jr. high. We connect very well. But when I'm with her, it's like I've passed my problem onto her, and I feel like we're both lonely & missing the party!
