you definitely need to ween off. I am doing the exact same thing right now.
I had originally been on 60mg but felt very disconnected so I was then prescribed 40mg.
Recently my doctor and I have decided to stop the medication. My dose is now 20mg for 3 months and then nothing.
Just cutting my dose in half gave me some pretty crappy withdrawal symptoms for the first couple of days. You'll be a lot better off if you ween yourself off.
