Can a sexual abuser develop amnesia of a sexual event as well as the one who has been abused?
What is the psyche of a sexual abuser? What is their typical personality? Is there one?
Answers:
I seriously doubt it. They will deny the event and could use the ruse of amnesia, but that is highly unlikely. I have worked with several sexual abusers and their victims for more than 10 yrs, and I cannot remember a case where the abuser actually has had amnesia.
As for personality... they tend to have a controling, manipulative personalities, history of abuse (sexual, physical, mental) in their own childhood, with a long list of other types of dysfunctions.
and the psyche of a sexual abuser.... it varies from abuser to abuser.
