I just got this phone call!!!?

My mother, who does have mental problems, called me at 6:30am to tell me that my step-father is cheating on her. He has written letters via Myspace to a woman who is in a self help group. She is reading these letters this woman has written to him. All it contains is just take it one day at a time and just hang in there. Just stuff you would tell a friend that is going through a hard time. My mother just went into remission. It was hard to see my mother go ther all of the treatments but it has been even harder seeing her go through the mental downward spiral that she has sliped down. I know it has a whole lot to do with the emotinal problems my mom as always suffered with. But now she is wanting to go to a mental hospital. Part of me wants her to go but then if I let her she will use it aginst me. I have been asking her to go and talk to her Dr about changing her meds. She doesn't think there is a problem.. I just dont know what to do. By the way I am 32 week pregnant also

Having worked in the mental health field many years my advice would be to let her go. If she is inpatient therapy she may be able to have her medication adjusted to a therapeutic level or changed. You do not need the stress. You have her best interest at hand. Don't worry about what she may say as long as you let her know you love her and support her. I know it may sound hard but it really is not. Do you have any other family who can help you with the issues your mother is going through? If so they need to help you out especially since you are pregnant.
