Grieving of the lost of a Loved One...?!

Question:

Grieving of the lost of a Loved One...?

I know you never get over it, its like if you have a cut it will heal, but there is always that scar for you to remember it by. It's been almost 7 years since I lost my brother, and I seem like I am an emotional wreck when people mention him. If I bring up the subject, I am fine, but if others do, I come into tears. My mom bought my father a card from my brother, and she let me read it, and I just started crying.

I know everyone grieves differently but im just worried about my reactions after 7 years. I have a pretty average life, its not affecting me like I'm being held back or anything, it's just dicouraging not to be able to talk about my brother with other people.

Answers:

Grief counseling and support groups. Helps but doesn't make all the pain go away. Also, you may be suffering from post traumatic stress. Happened to me after a lot of death.
