What exactly is a "neverous breakdown"?
When somebody says, "I had a nervous breakdown", what is that preciously? Is that just a mental item, or is there a physical component? Is there an official medical definition or recognition of this state?

I don't know what the clinical definition of a nervous breakdown is, but my experience was that I was under so much stress and so withdrawn to protect myself from being teased and bullied by others, that I just completely shut down. I wouldn't eat, I wouldn't sleep, I wouldn't talk, and I wouldn't move. I guess that that for me was/is a nervous breakdown and it took a while for me to go out of that state of mind.
