Overcoming indecisiveness?!

Question:

Overcoming indecisiveness?

As long as I can remember, I have had trouble making decisions. Some vary on importance, so it's not just stupid little things like what flavor of ice cream to get.
Now I'm facing the issue of wanting to transfer to a new college. It's a toss-up between Providence College and Merrimack College. I weigh the pro's and con's, but my gut tells me I'd be happier at MC even though PC is more prestigious. My parents would love to see me attend PC and do not support MC at all. I'm not sure what to do (again) and deadlines are approaching.
Do I have a diagnosable problem, or is it just plain old indecisiveness?

I told my parents I decided to go to Merrimack and they told me I would have to pay for it myself because they will not support another (I don't like my current school) "wrong decision." I have been gathering info on loans/scholarships and I've sent a letter to MC asking for some more money.. I'm just caught between where I want to go, or going somewhere far less desireable to avoid extensive personal future debt. I just feel like I'm putting off the decision continually. Just curious as to what others thought about it. Thanks for your help.

I would say it's simple. You want to please your parents with the "right" decisions, so you're really having trouble deciding if you make yourself happy with school A or if you make your parents happy with school B. If you're paying for your own schooling or going on scholarships, etc, I wouldn't worry what they want. You need to be happy and know that you're making decisions on your own without having to be concerned about what someone else thinks. However, if they're paying your tuition, I can see where your dilemma arises. You don't want them to cut you off financially.

I honestly don't think it's a diagnosable "disease". I have indecisiveness as well, but I learned that it's from being afraid of making a mistake, however small.

I hope this was helpful.
