I'm looking for information about a fear of mine, regarding elongated faces and !

Question:

I'm looking for information about a fear of mine, regarding elongated faces and their connotation with evil.

I just thought about this recently, but there are images that absolutely terrify me. I'm not easily scared of anything, but some things just get to me.

These things all uniformly have very elongated faces, and large, empty eyes. It's very hard to explain, but a very good example of exactly what I'm talking about is on the cover of the Otep album titled Sevas Tra. Search for a picture of it if you don't know what I'm talking about.

Anything that looks like that just strikes me to the bone. I don't know why. It goes the same for anything with similar traits, like the skulls of dogs and horses. When I saw the movie The Omen (the original version), when they dug up the jackal's bones, I saw the skull and I nearly blacked out.

Any information regarding this fear would be greatly appreciated. I've noticed that a lot of the images that have those traits are already associated with somewhat "evil" things, and I'd just like to know where the images stemmed from.

Thank you in advance

Okay, all of my answers so far seem to think I'm asking for how to avoid being afraid of these things. That's not what I want. I can live with being afraid of the images, they don't present themselves to me often at all.

All I am looking for at the moment is some information on the images themselves. Maybe if I knew the source of their connotation with evil, I could come to terms with it. That's all.

Answers:

it sounds like this could use some deeper exploration with a psychiatrist who can really help unravel this and give you some hopefully relief from what must be a very annoying and trouble some issue...I would say for one thing definitely stay away from horror films or novels. Ive recently heard there is a common Blood pressure drug that is being used successfully to treat post traumatic syndrome. Then those bad memories tend to soften and don't give the same fear and nightmares etc. There are many other treatments for phobias. There may be some generalized anxiety that needs treatment I would encourage you to seek out help from those who specialize in it best wishes
