Sleep talking.?

and do i need to go to the doc?

Answers:

Most people mutter and chatter in their sleep from time to time, some do it on a regular basis. There's nothing wrong with it, and most of what you say isn't intelligible anyway, at least not beyond a few words. Nobody is going to be holding a conversation with you, and you aren't likely to respond sensibly if they tried. You would more than likely wake up first. So you need not worry about giving away state secrets in your sleep. Even if you call out a name, beyond getting the third degree from the wife next morning, the name itself may come from way back in first grade. What you say in your sleep in no way indicates anything significant to your life today. Sleep medications won't even prevent it. I've worked in hospitals for decades, and heard lots of people mutter and talk in their sleep, sometimes when they should be about as out of it as it's possible to be. Sedated patients often talk. About the only people who don't are babies, those that literally can't talk. Even babies mutter in their sleep, as soon as they are able to make sounds at all. No need to go see the doctor, save your money. There's nothing wrong, and nothing to fix. And no way to fix it anyway. So relax, and quit stressing over what you say or don't say in your sleep.
