Answers:

If you are on your parents insurance they will find out if you went to the doctor. Instead of a psychiatrist go to your regular doctor, tell your symptoms, about the hyperness and depression other days. They will help you decide where to go from there and let you know your rights as a minor if you ask. It does sound like bipolar to me. Many people with it have more depressive days than manic days. There is also whats called bipolar 2 which has less mania than regular bipolar. If it is bipolar or even if not and you continue to be depressed you will probably need a medication. Drugs and therapy together usually show the best results. Ask your family doctor for your options. Your parents probably will need to know eventually and it would be good to talk to them but you can talk to the doctor first. Be well.
