How do you deal with bipolar individuals?!

Question:

How do you deal with bipolar individuals?

Answers:

You treat them like the human beings they are.

I am going to assume that you mean difficult behavior or the moods.

1) Learn all you can about bipolar disorder. The more you know, the more you understand.

2) Take care of yourself.

3) Join support if you need to, I will give some links below.

4) Do not try to reason with mania or depression.

5) Be supportive but not co-dependant.

6) Encourage them to seek help, but do not nag. Everyone must take responsibility for themselves. If they are suicidal, get help immedietly. (911 or emergency room)

7) Set good limits and boundaries. Make it very clear what behavior is tolerable and what is not and what the consequences will be.
