Klonopin withdrawl! help!!!?!

Question:

Klonopin withdrawl! help!!!?

Im currently trying to taper off klonopin. Ive been on 3mg a day for a year and then recenlty went to 4mg's per day for about 3 months. I then tried to quit cold turkey and had horrible problems, afraid to sleep because I would wake up totally unable to move and didnt know where I was. Also uncontrollable shakes and twitches would happen, plus a general feeling of a 24 hour panic attack, so I had to start taking 4mg a day again. So, recently I went to see my doctor, he put me on Cymbalta which I had been on before, and wants me to taper off of klonopin and just stay on Cymbalta. I first cut to three mgs for one week then 2 for about 4 days. then I went to .5 in the morning and .5 just a few days ago, thats when the problems start, fear of going to sleep, just craziness, chills, vomiting. so i went back on 2mg per day because I cant take it.ANy help info please, Ive come off other anti drugs before even cold turkey, but when I get to .5 on this, its really bad.

the thing that is startling though is that I had been on klonopin before for about 6 months a year back and came off it with no problems. then switched to ativan. Now coming off of it the scary sh!t starts happening. I had been off just recently for three weeks and the symptoms never went away. Does anyone know what that would be associated with. the complete confusion in familiar surroundings, paranoia, waking up in the night unable to move? that has never happened to me before thats the scary part, I detoxed off effexor cold turkey and that didnt happen. just flu symptoms.

Answers:

Is there a reason why your doctor wants you off of this medication so badly? Perhaps you need to be on it. Not necessarily 4 mg per day (that's a little high). You need to talk to your doctor about this.
