Is this a phobia?
My friend has a weird reaction whenever someone near him folds a piece of paper in half. He says its not a phobia and it doesn't scare him, but that it hurts him (headaches). I think its a phobia beacuse he sometimes runs away when we do this to him. Even if it does hurt him, isn't it still a fear of being hurt?

Sounds like obsessive compulsive behavior. I would take him to psychiatrist. Some express it has having to have the right thought in there head or having to avoid something for contamination effects. Its not logical so don't try to make it so.
