Is being a loner unhealthy?!

Question:

Is being a loner unhealthy?

What if you're completly happy and content being on your own? Only when others get involved with my life do problems begin to arise, the less people around me the better off i am.
and i can get so much more done in the course of a day if i'm not dragging someone else around with me.

Answers:

There was recently an article in Psychology Today about this. For many years, loners were considered social outcasts and unfriendly. However, now we know that is not the case. Loners (or introverts) are no more unfriendly than outgoing (or extroverted) people.

So, as a summary, no, there is nothing wrong with being a loner. It's just a different personality type. Some people excel and thrive while alone; others would go insane. But there is nothing wrong with either personality type.

Problems only arise when you feel the need for other people's company and ignore it. If you become so withdrawn from society that you rarely see people or leave your house, that is very unhealthy.
