Help finding current depression studies in my area?!

Question:

Help finding current depression studies in my area?

I have no insurance and im looking to get help for my severe depression. So i decided to sign up for one of those studies that pay for your therapy as well an the medication. Usually in a family one person is in desperate need of help. Well in my family almost everyone is going through it big time and thats on both sides, my family as well as my husbands. There is no one to talk to or turn to. I just want things to get better if not for me for my son he dosent deserve to see his mom cry all day long everyday. I realize im in to deep to do this alone. I cant afford to pay for this in any way shape or form. So PLEASE if you know of a place or website that has local info on depression studies that would help. I saw a billboard and heard an ad on the radio but i didnt get the number on time. How would i know which one to choose. I hope to get through this and write a book on my life and the trials and tribulations i have been through me and my family. Thanks so much.

Please no smart comments. You dont know me and my life or my income! The reason i say that is cause i have asked similar questions like this before and lame people say well you say you cant afford insurance than how come your on the internet. I absolutly HATE people who jump to conclusions. For their info i am using my husbands work computer. People on here are quick to type but if they were in person i bet they wouldnt say a word. I know it is better to give then recieve and i hope and pray to one day give back in so many ways. As i mentioned i want to write a book so that i may help at least one person in this world with similar circumstances know that there is hope and they can overcome this. So please i ask you no smart mouth comments i guarantee if you were going through this you wouldnt want someone bringing you down even more. So remeber you dont know me and what i am really going through. Thanks for your help.

I think the previous writer has the answer. Other than that, are there any mental health providers available through Welfare or something like that? Also, ring the radio station, they should be able to give you the number from the ad they ran. You could try to Google 'depression study' and 'your area'. Good luck.

I'm sorry you haven't had a lot of support around here. Have you tried a posting website like iVillage too? There are many bulletin boards there with VERY supportive, loving and understanding people. You can find a board for just about any topic or interest. Just corresponding with other women who feel like you do can be such a relief.

Hugs!
