I am wondering if anyone knows of a sexual abuse or depression group here in Atlanta or metro Atlanta?

I am 25 yrs old and I have depression due to low self esteem from my sexuality and also by me being abused as a child and also having a guy sexually abuse me as well
I have not told anyone

What you are going through is not your fault and although it is painful, what you are feeling is normal. one in four men and one in three women were abused before the age of sixteen and most suffer with symptoms like yours.

You are indeed going to need a therapist to work through this however you are going to need one experienced in sexual abuse.

If you are male then www.malesurvivor.org is the place to go for support and information. There is a discussion board, a chat room and tons of literature which will help you understand and learn you are not alone. There are also Weekends of Recovery held in Atlanta every now and then as well.

If you're female then www.rainn.org is the place.
