Child molestation victims act mature when they're young, but can they regress as!

Question:

Child molestation victims act mature when they're young, but can they regress as they get older?

When I was 13-14, I was already acting like a grown sexual woman ready to get out of the house....but now I'm 24 and I feel like a little girl stuck in an adult's body. I'm not sure if I'm ready to live independently like most young ladies my age. I cling on to my mom very much and there are just a lot of other things that I can't do on my own. I'm also very shy to interact with others, which comes off as a childish trait. People used to tell me "Wow you're so mature for a 12 year old" and now they tell me I'm immature and spoiled, haha.

Anyone else go through similar situations? I know sexual abuse can have lots of effects once you're an adult, but is it common to become not fully mature for anybody else out there? (like how it's common for molested children to act much older than they are).

Answers:

When abuse victims are yound they (we) tend to act mature because we are dealing with issues that we know are not childlike, but we are stunted at a crucial time in our lives. When we become adults and realize that sexuality is only a small part of adulthood. We never knew how to be children, and our idea of what adulthood was, isnt reality. So we become sorta of the age that we stunted at. A lot of victims never deeply progress from that trauma without a great deal of self intrepretation
