How do you handle someone who's worried all the time?!
Question:
How do you handle someone who's worried all the time?
My roomie depends on Xanax to make it through the day. Before that, all he did was worry about trivial things. He didn't want to go to work because he was afraid that customers would complain about him or that he would mess something up and get fired. He doesn't like doing homework because he worries that he won't do it right. If he misses a day of class, he *DROPS THE CLASS* because he fears what the teacher will say and figures that he's already too far behind. He doesn't do simple things like renew his license plate tags out of some kind of fear. He has to pop Xanax to even face the day, and they don't alway help.
I've never been a worrier or had to take downers, so I don't know the best advice to tell him. I know that taking these meds all the time can't help. He's already been through therapy, who just gave him Xanax. So... anything else I can tell him?
Thanks

Try reading The Mood Cure. He sounds like he needs some changes that are simple, yet life-changing.
