For those that have epilepsy, how difficult is taking your prescribed medication!


Question:

For those that have epilepsy, how difficult is taking your prescribed medication?

My wife has a difficult time keeping on hers She says she feels stiff after taking what should be her regular medicine routine. Anyone have this issue?

Yes, I guess that would help. She was prescribed with Dilantin from her teen years until a few years after we met when she was around 34. She's now 36. Then she was put on Lamictal, but thats expensive and with no insurance to help pay for it, she eventually went on Zonisamide(at least I think that is what it is called. ) From what I can tell she's been on and off since a teenager.

I have had seizures for about 5 years now. When first diagnosed, I was prescribed Lamitcal then keppra an after that another medication. I was put on depakote sprinkles after the 3rd one, than with that took lyrica but got off that because of I wasn't getting any results. I went from 20- 16 pills a day recently an had the VNS implant surgery. Also, since I have epilepsy It brings me depression an anxiety so I used to take pills for that too.

the point I'm getting at is I didn't even like taking my pills in the begging I dislike the way the make me fill an I do get stiff. I also get sleepy, dizzy an all the lil good side effects that goes with the pills.
