How long to take lexapro?

i have taken lexapro 15mg since march 20th 2007 and i am feeling much better i no longer have my depression at all my anxiety has gotten much better and i feel more confident now and want to live life to the fullest. i am wondering how much longer i should stay on this med. i really dont want to be taking this for the rest of my life so i was wondering when a good time would be to consult with my doc and slowly tapper of the med.

I would consult your doctor before you do anything. Some people just need the short term medication, some people do use it long term, but so you don't throw your mental health into any more hoops, call your doc. Good luck!
