I need help with this depression.?!

Question:

I need help with this depression.?

i left my abusive spouse, and moved my son and i 1800 miles from the son of a *****. my son isn't his biological child, so all ties are cut.
my problem is that i can't ******* deal with anything right now. i have lots of ups and downs, but the downs keep getting lower and lower, and right now i'm in the middle of one. i'm not suicidal, but i can't guarantee that if i had a bottle of something potent that i wouldn't down the whole damn thing. i don't know how to deal with this, and i'm trying to go the whole 'counseling and medication' route, but have weeks to go until i even get an appointment. i feel like i'm going to have a nervous breakdown. i have no family besides my son, my only close friends out here aren't available today, and i feel like i'm really ******* losing my mind. i need help. what do i do?

Answers:

my brother is slightly abusive sometimes and i realized that it was hurting me inside more than physically. we have a punching bag, so every day i went out there and fought back. not at him directly, but more at myself, for letting him destroy me. it helped, and it gets better for me every day. a lot of people take kick boxing or other self defense classes after they get out of an abusive relationship.

make sure to always set aside some time for yourself to just relax. even a bubble bath once or twice a week could make a huge difference.

oh and besides when you are sleeping, always leave the lights on as bright as possible. when you are feeling esp down, eat a bar of dark chocolate. also, give someone a hug.
all of these things have been scientifically proven to trigger something in your brain that makes you a tiny bit happier.

start bike riding or going for a run once or twice a week. physical health aids mental health.

find a creative outlet, whether its music or writing or art. and try yoga. try to find God, too. i know it might sound dumb if you are not a Christian, but trust me He has a plan for you.

good luck. i hope it gets better for you and your son.
