Why do some people crave attention?!

Question:

Why do some people crave attention?

Answers:

Hello:

I have always believed it is due to the fact that some people want to feel important or valued by their family or peers,so they are ALWAYS seeking attention! I have a sister who thinks that the world should stop and wait for her until SHE IS READY! Although she is a nice person and a giving person, she is very much self absorbed, and she loves to hear other people tell her how pretty she is,how funny she is,etc...

My sister and I are both adults, but I could never live up to my sister and it was very clear right from the beginning. My family thought that my sister could do no wrong, she was so smart,so funny,etc...

My sister still thinks that the world revolves around her and when she was in college,it was nothing for her to show up an hour or more late for a very important family function such as a barbecue,or a birthday, and then she would come flying down the road, driving like a maniac, and come flying into the driveway. My family thought it was just so cute and funny when she used to do this, but I didn't I thought it was very disrespectful and rude to say the least.

My sister CRAVES ATTENTION so badly, that before she got married she was sleeping around with ALOT of guys, and she would tell this,"Stories,"about how when she went to the bars that she would party down,etc...

The funniest thing that happened though is that one weekend we went to her college dorm and she claimed that EVERYONE knew her and knew her name but do you know what? When we were at her college visiting her,NO ONE in her dorm,or at her college even knew who she was.

I think that people who are like this just have to have the verification from other people in their lives that they are pretty, smart, funny, etc and they are not happy until they hear how wonderful they are from the other people in their lives. Of course I was called a you-know-what,because when I got married before my sister did,and I had a barbecue or a family dinner,I told her what time to be there, and if she wasn't there ON TIME,we ate without her period, end of story! My sister thought I was joking when I told her that we would start without her if she didn't show up on time, but she soon found out that I wasn't kidding when all of the food and soft drinks were gone.

I am very different than my sister because I actually CARE ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE,and I don't think that the earth revolves around me. I have what is called,"respect and consideration,"for other people. My sister is a elementary school teacher and I am a nurse. ;-)
