Am i bipolar?!

Question:

Am i bipolar?

its been getting quiet weird latley...im 15 and i think i may have some form of the bipolar disorder, but im not sure. some days- im wicked hyper and i feel like i have all this energy, and minor things can trigger me into having absolutly no energy 9even if i havent done anything.) ill get all crazy and loud durring class, but then right after ill get moody and depressed. and sometimes i can be perfectly normal too. i have done research and all, but im still not sure about it all. even some of my friends tease me and say im probally bipolar, like its a joke or something. and my body temperature somehow coexists with my mood. when im super hyper, im never cold when all my friends say its freezing. (i know this cuz my 2nd periods class was apparently always freezing, according to everyone.) but when im all moody and depressed im always cold, even if noone else is. is this normal?

Hi

Well what you are describing sounds like it can be Bipolar but then again, it also sounds like it could be a few other things as well. I am Bipolar and Bipolar is not a diagnosis to be taken lightly at all. It is extremely serious and it also can be deadly. I cannot stress that enough to you what a serious disorder this is.

Keeping that in mind (the danger of being Bipolar), lets start with a few things first. The only person who can diagnosis Bipolar is a doctor, hopefully a psychiatrist and once that has been decided, if it is decided, then a treatment plan will be made and you must follow that (meaning, do what the doc says).

But also what you are describing are things of a normal hormonal teenage girl. I am not saying one way or the other but as you can see we pretty much all are suggesting to you that you that you see a psychiatrist because of the severity of the diagnosis and also your age, but the key word being but, Bipolar is a disorder that is very hard to diagnosis.

So I am also suggesting to you that if you feel you may be Bipolar, you must tell Mom and Dad and have them make an appointment with a doctor for you. This is too important to just blow off, so please don't.

Talk to mom and dad and go and see the doctor.

Be safe and be well
