For how long can i use xanax before i develop an addiction?

i started using xanax a couple of days ago (out of curiosity - i wasn't prescribed it), with the intention of using it only every couple of weeks. but i've found it does wonders for helping me to study.

so i was wondering if it is safe enough to keep using it every day until my exams end 1 week from now, then stop using it?

is there any chance of developing an addiction after 1 - 2 weeks?

I agree with Lilijo......this is a HIGHLY addictive drug and you are playing with fire. You can become addicted to this medication in as little as 3 days. Xanax is in the class of drugs known as benzodiazepines. If you get caught taking someone else's prescription, you could get in a lot of trouble and if you should have to take a drug screen you would fail. JUST FYI. Please google this and do some research.
