Depression is woe is me syndrome??!

Question:

Depression is woe is me syndrome??

I exercise, I do work for other people and I even exercise coping techniques and positive thing, but positive thinking is irrational. I could even argue it a court of law! Woe is me syndrome? I think not! Try, woe is life syndrome, then we're getting somewhere. Maybe I should be a buddahist!

Personally, I've got a loving set of parents who are still together, interesting siblings, a wonderful husband with whom I've got no complaints, a lot of opportunities in life being that I'm from a upper middle class family and a developed country and I'm intelligent, but depression? It's physical. It's as rational as drinking water keeps us alive. Woe is me? Yea, right maybe if I was 13 year old emo kid.

Medication hurts though, so what now?

Answers:

you're probably at a stage in life right now that you are not satisfied about something.. job is not fulfilling, your friends/siblings are doing better than you are, no love life, feeling like you want more but don't know what it is, finding out who your true friends are... feelings like that.

go talk to a shrink and get it all figured out. if you are in your mid-to-late 20's, this is normal. if it's depression, it may not be the "bad" things in life, but just a dysfunction of the brain. take the time to make some changes in your life... these little changes will open up new doors and you may discover new adventures that will enhance your life... or perhaps it'll have you find out where you were originally was pretty good in the first place.
