Taking abilify? what are the side effects?

i noticed it works very well, as i am manic. and i haven't had an episode since i started taking this medication, YET i do notice that it's giving me a problem. i think it's anxiety. i start thinking and worrying about things i nornally don't worry about and my body/mind goes ballistic. my heart starts racing, i grind my teeth, andi breathe fast due to these thoughts i'm having. this is not normal? anyone experienced this? it's supposed to be a sedative. i will tell my doctor, but until then, i wanna know if anyone's been through the same and what did you and your doctor do to fix the problem?

possibly change to a different medication? or add a medication that helps anxiety?

According to the drug facts on Webmd, you should call your Dr. immediately if you have mental or mood changes, and it specifically lists anxiety as one of them. You need to call you Dr. now! I took that medication for awhile and never had those symptoms. I got dizzy and tired, but nothing else. You might need a lower dose or an anxiety medication to take with it.
