Do you trust your psychiatrist?!

Question:

Do you trust your psychiatrist?

I know I can tell my psychiatrist what's going on with me, side effects or symptoms and he'll have a solution. Just today I got one of my meds cut back because I had a complaint and he knew which med was causing the problem, and let me know his concerns with lowering the dose.

I was just wondering how common this is. I think it's important that you can trust your doctor to know what he's doing.

Answers:

I had one for nearly 20 yrs and I trusted him with my life. He retired. But every time I went into his office even after a length of time he remebered my parents names, thier professions, he remebered things I had discussed 15 yrs ago. He remebered alot and he listened to everything I said. When I told him i was having difficulty he would change things around and I knew it was right to at least try his ideas. I have lady now and I really don't prefer her, but i trust her to some extent. She has no personallity, but she is a seroius person and I am still feeling her out. It is something that takes time. When you find the right one you will know, it is a lot like love. don't be afraid to shop around and I believe thier first contact with you should make you feel at home and comfortable. If they don't it might not get any better. Never be afraid to look things up on the old internet. Todays doctors have a running for thier money because we as patients can find anything about them and the meds they prescribe.
