My doctor diagnosed me with Schizophrenia recently. Anybody know how to deal with this?

my first reaction would be to get 2 more opinions. it is a very serious diagnosis and if not taken care of properly, can get very out of hand.
once you get your 2nd and 3rd opinion, you then need to take a good look at yourself and identify what trigures any episodes. and identify who are the best type of people to surround yourself with.
once you can do that, if you can stick to your medication, eat healthy, and do regular excercise (look after yourself) you shouldnt have too many problems.
but do yourself a favour and get 2 more opinions first.. then figure it all out.
i was diagnosed with bi polar and it has taken me many years to realise that there are things that trigure off my episodes.
but now i have figured it out, i stay healthy and look after myself. and have not had an episode for about 6months.
i also found the more doctors i spoke to, the better i understood myself and accepted myself
