My mom is a packrat...help!!!?

I live with both of my parents and we are looking to move. But first we have to clean our house out. Me and my mom have started to clean but one problem. My mom is a packrat! It's horrible trying to clean when she does not want to get rid of anything! I feel so drowned in all of her junk. It is so bad that she doesn't want to get rid of things that are so old and she doesn't even use anymore and she buys so much clothes and never wears any of it. She has totes and totes full of brand new clothes her closet is FULL of clothes that she never wears.... she buys it and then forgets about it, her stuff is everywhere, but yet she's not getting rid of any of it. Sometimes I even have to sneak things out of the house to throw away or donate. I constantly tell her how I feel about this and she still refuses to get rid of anything. Sometimes I just feel like giving up.
Me on the other hand, I'm the total opposite. I keep my room clean and most of what I can...Someone have any advice to give me?

My dad has just learned to live with it. He doesn't say anything about it because he is already used to being flooded in junk.
Even if I do clean and throw out things by the next week it will look the same and she just brings home new stuff.

Compromise with your mom. Start by getting rid of the small and unused things (like shirts or old shoes) and work your way up. A little at a time makes a big difference.
