My 5 yr old son has been diagnosed as ADHD with mood disorder. But the med Foca!

My 5 yr old son has been diagnosed as ADHD with mood disorder. But the med Focalin makes his symptoms worse.?

My son is five years old, he has is a healthy, active child and I also had a normal pregnancy. He is really out of control. But I have dealt with this since he was about 9 months old. He is constantly on the go. The med focalin is the only med that the dr would try him on she said that is was similair to Ritulan. She messed with the dosage twice and it made him worse she also tried him on Prozac and Wellbutrin for his moods, also with no luck. Nothing helps calm him down. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I had two boys with it. Keep him away from excess sugars,caffeine and food colorings. Find ways to distract him and help him burn off energy.Both of my kids were in sports,and on bicycles by age 5. The oldest one had a baseball glove and tennis balls that he bounced off the garage and tried to catch.Very good for coordination,burning energy,and stress release. The younger one did well with bikes,riding them and learning to pop wheelies etc. Summertime is a great time for swimming lessons,bike riding,ball,etc. A soccer ball will also give him coordination and burn energy. Give him a start line and a goal and time him on how fast he can make it to the goal.He'll need to work on coordination and speed to beat his previous records.And he's competing but only against his own time.
