What kind of jobs are good for people with Avoidant Personality Disorder?!

Question:

What kind of jobs are good for people with Avoidant Personality Disorder?

I don't like being around people especially the same people everyday. I'm the broiler guy at Burger King right now. Should I start buying and selling on EBAY? I want to make money but I don't want to be around people.

Answers:

Hey,

I have Asperger Disorder, a form of Autism, and Avoidant Personality Disorder. From my experence I enjoy self employment from home. I am a web designer. Try home based work. You never have to get out and meet people. I feel your pain there. I tried working at McDonalds and Chick-f-la, both jobs caused GREAT Stress. I am also taking college through the Upper Iowa University External Degree Program. That is mail based with NO interaction what so ever with others except submitting assignments to your teacher via mail. If you are interested in college and have fear like I do of a classroom, the go to www.uiu.edu . They have many business majors, Psychology, that is what I do, and some others. I wasnot sure if that is why you did not go to college or not. But do try home based work. Try to find something that can involve the least amount of interaction. Web Design is a REALLY good one according to my doctor for this disorder. You do not need a kit like SMC or any other "Start up you future and make money kits". You can do it from your prior knowledge or by a book from amazon. The instant wealth companies are out to make money for themselves. You can do that with what you have in you head, not there junk. I hope this helps. It is always great to hear from people with Social Anxiety and Avoidant Personality Disorder. Just hang in there! Do go to that college website though, and try home based work! I hope this helps!!! Oh, Ebay would be great idea. They have a forum through there site that will provide any sales info you will need, and it is free to ebay members!
