Will a person who wakes up by alarm clock have REM sleep?!
Question:
Will a person who wakes up by alarm clock have REM sleep?
Since REM sleep is the last stage of sleep. So if a person's sleep is disrupted by the alarm, will the person still have REM sleep?
Answers:
REM isn't a one-off during sleep. We all sleep cyclically we start light go deep go to REM come light again then repeat the process over and over till we awaken - naturally or otherwise.
There have been studies in to sleep deprivation that have shown that continually disturbing REM sleep has a pronounced effect, but all sleep is important - it allows the body to physically repair itself, rests the muscles and allows dreaming (sifting all of that mental data input and either getting rid of it or "filing it" for later use).
cheers and pleasant dreams
