Answers:

You are referring to Borderline Personality Disorder I assume? (Usual convention is BPD=Borderline and BP=Bipolar) I can recommend two books that are helpful in different ways. "I Hate You, Don't Leave Me" is wonderful both for gaining insight into what the disorder is like, especially for other people who are in a relationship with someone who is has BPD. For a workbook that offers good coping skills try Marsha Linehan's Skills Training Manual (a DBT Workbook). Don't rely too much on meds-they can help ameliorate the symptoms somewhat, but therapy and a solid relationship with your therapist is the key. The disorder is trauma-based, so therapy is more critical than meds.
