How Many People Have Been Abused By A Medical Professional???

Does anyone know just how many people out there that have been abused by a medical professional??

Are there REALLY any statistics out there??? There IS a new yahoo group: doctors_who_abuse.

The question remains: who does someone turn to once abused by a doctor??

It's not that simple, unfortunately!! I have hated doctors my entire life but until I started detoxing off all the drugs they prescribed; I didn't know why.

This was 26 years ago & I didn't remember anything that had happened until a few days ago. This is when I began having nightmares & flashbacks of the sexual abuse forced upon me by a doctor my parents forced me to see when I was a minor.

By the way, the so called doctor has long since retired. That doesn't change what happened. Nor does it change the way I feel about the so-called medical profession.

I have one friend who when she was sent to the gynecologist for the very first time looked at her hymen and said something to the effect "gosh your hymen is really thick...well i'm doing some guy a favor..." he tore her hymen. Didn't ask her permission (or her parents) or anything. This man should be sued.
