Is it possible to just "get over" schizophrenia?!

Question:

Is it possible to just "get over" schizophrenia?

When I was 14 and 15, I had this belief that I could telepathically communicate with all of my friends. We would "have meetings" in my head. I was on drugs bad at the time. I quit drugs. And moved to a different state, also. I still talked to them in my head for months though, until I said to myself "Wow, if they can't say it to my face, it's not worth listening to." And within a month or so, I completely blocked out all of these thoughts.

Only once since then have I had an issue with it. I went about 4 years with no problems, but for about 2 minutes last year, I felt this random urge to be...'crazy'.

Again, I just said if they can't say it to my face, it isn't worth listening to. Aside for this one glitch in my past, I believe I am relatively 'normal'.

Any thoughts on this?

Answers:

Yes, it is. I remember in Psychology, they had the "rule of thirds". One thirds of the patients would simply get over schizophrenia, one third would be functional enough to be in society even though they suffered, and one third would be mental institution bound. So yes, it is possibly to get over it.

But it could have been the drugs and random cravings. Depends on the drugs.
