How do you know? Seratonin or Norepinephrine?!
Question:
How do you know? Seratonin or Norepinephrine?
How do I know if my depression is caused by problems with one or the other of those brain chemicals. How do I know which antidepressent to go on (or how does a Psychiatrist know?)
Answers:
The only true way to know is via spinal tap. There is no objective test for mental disorders. Even the most experienced psychiatrists are only making an educated guess.
With all the studies and trials the pharmaceutical industry and clinical researchers do, they never try to prove the chemical imbalance theory because the financial implications of it being disproved are staggering.
An example of a verifiable condition caused by a chemical imbalance is diabetes.
