Does this sound like abuse?
Hi I live with my bitter 60 year old unmarried aunt who I feel is slowly mentally abusing me. She always praises my cousin who is the same age as me because he went to university etc & has his life pretty much on track. I lost my mum when I was 14 & since then had to grow up on my own supporting myself as my father had nothing to do with me. I have met a wonderful girl who has a 4 year old child from a previous relationship & I adore them both & I really want to spend my life with both of them. My aunt then says its none of my business but remember this girl has got baggage which I think u should steer clear of. Whenever my aunt is around I feel anxious & relax when I am with this girl. My aunt has always put me down & always dents my confidence & makes me question my personality, is this right? Thanks!

It does sound like a form of mental abuse. She can give you her opinion if you ask it of her and then let it be. If she really cared and loved you she would not hurt you in any way. Follow your heart because your girlfriend will be in your life alot longer than your aunt will be. Good luck you!
