If a physically disabled person also registered with mental health team are they entitled to direct payments?
I have physical disability requiring me to be in wheelchair. I need help to dress etc and at present this is provided by social services. I am also registered as mentally ill and my social worker is from the mental health side of things. I have been told that I do not qualify for direct payments because I have a mental illness and that because of this my physical care needs must be provided by social services. Is this true.
