How much damage does 30 panadol overdose do?!

Question:

How much damage does 30 panadol overdose do?

My friend overdosed on 30 panadol a few days ago but is feeling fine now. Has he damaged himself? He will not seek help? He said that he should die slowly. Is this true. He says he would rather suffer physical pain that would eventually end than to continue with his emotional suffering. I don't know what to do as I have promised not to tell anyone. I shouldn't really be on here but am worried about him. He has got reason to feel the way he does and I do understand lots of what he moans about but I don't want to lose him.

He is also taking additional panadol every day and says he has taken about the same amount of ibuprofen too. I am worried about him but as he looks ok and says he feels fine i dont know if he has taken anything or whether he is making it up. What do you think? Do you think if he had taken what he says that he would still not show any signs or do you think he is just looking for attention. Please help. I dont want to call in services if he hasnt taken anything and is calling my bluff. What should he be like if he has taken about 40+ now panadols and he says about the sam ibuprofens? Help! Please!

Answers:

whoa!
since this could be serious just get your friend evaluated for poisoning and liver and kidney failure now! If he is ok, then great.

panadol (acetaminophen) damages the liver and alcohol and not eating make that damage a lot worse. Ibuprofen will damage the kidneys more than the liver.

If he damaged his liver and is not feeling sick taking more panadol will make the liver worse.
It can take a few days to feel sick from liver failure but when this happens, when you fell sick, that liver might not recover.

This is not a difficlut question really. He said he poisoned himself and the effects of the poisoning might not show up for days and the risk is death; get him into an emergency room and sort out things there.
