Does anyone know anything about a War room for marketing?!

Question:

Does anyone know anything about a War room for marketing?

I am working at my internship and I have to make a war room wall for the fall of 07. I still need to get materials to hang on the wall from other people in the department but I need to be patient. I am just so nervous about this whole thing and I hate the job so much that it is tempting for me to walk out the door and not come to work. I get a sick feeling in my stomach every morning when I wake up, and I can't even sleep well. I know I am just rambling but I really need some help. I am going to see a therapist today who I saw sometime last year and I am hoping that he can come up with some suggestions to help me. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can survive like this for the rest of the summer? I am not acting like myself at all and I just want to do a good job. My supervisor never says anything and the War Room is currently occupied now, I want to try to get the War Room taken care of but I need to calm down before I can do anything. Today, I am just searching for answers.

Answers:

I suggest you ask your supervisor to brief you properly on the task. After all, that is his or her job.
I'm not sure what you are really asking in terms of getting materials to hang on the wall. In my experience, a marketing "war room" was merely a centralised location where all activities and information about a specific activity were located.

I recall setting up a war room after one of my employer's competitors launched a cheap brand to try and undermine our market share.
All information regarding pricing and distribution of the new competitive lines was directed through to the war room. A large map and colored pins were used to map out the extent of the threat and pricing information and sales data was also collated. As each bit of new information came in, we would decide whether to react and which area to do so in.

Unfortunately your question does not provide enough information on what you require, and instead focusses on all the problems you are having. I suspect that if you simply get on with the job and ask for appropriate help, you will find it a lot easier than you think.
Good luck!
