For the doctors?!

Question:

For the doctors?

So, i am 14, and think i might be Bipolar. What are the symptoms for that besides having intense mood swings.
Feel free to e-mail me if you want more info.

Answers:

I'm not a doctor, but I did work as psychiatric RN for 20 years. I don't know what your symptoms are but you can find out what the symptoms of Bipolar Disorder are by doing a Yahoo search on "symptoms of bipolar disorder".

Some good sources I saw were: What is Bipolar Disorder, on psychcentral.com; Types of Bipolar Disorder, on Web MD; Diagnosis and Symptoms of Bipolar Disorder, on bipolar.about.com.

If you do a Yahoo search on, "childhood bipolar disorder", there is a source titled, Bipolar Disorder in Childhood and Adolescence, an Overview, on webmd.com. You might find this helpful also.

You are welcome to e-mail me anytime, with any question. I encourage you to ask your parents to make an appointment for you to see an Adolescent Psychiatrist to evaluate this. I'm not qualified to diagnose this for you and from my experience, no qualified doctor would diagnose this in you without seeing you.

I advise you to see an Adolescent Psychiatrist instead of a psychologist because Bipolar Disorder is a "physical illness" that causes "psychological" symptoms. Psychologists have NO medical training.

I hope that something I have written has helped. My heart goes out to you no matter what kind of problem you are having and I pray that it is something easily correctable.
