I worry constantly and have a feeling of hopelessness. I do not enjoy anything like I should. Even when I am doing something immensely enjoyable, worried or sad thoughts run through my head. Answers:

Unfortunately, there is no way to know what will work best for you. Each person responds differently to antidepressant medications. What you are describing sounds like depression. The most common kind of antidepressants are SSRI's (Selective Seratonin Reuptake Inhibitors). It is likely that your doctor will start you out with one of these, which include prozac, paxil, lexapro, zoloft, etc. There are also antidepressants which affect norepinepherine and dopamine. There is really no way of knowing what will work best for you without trying. Sometimes it takes several tries before you find what works for you. When you do start taking an antidepressant, keep in mind that it may take 3-6 weeks before you get the benefit of the medication, so don't give up if you don't feel immediately better.
