I just started taking lexapro?!

I just started taking lexapro?

and it is making me feel really groggy and I broke out with itchy hives? The hives could be cause I'm allergic to most everything. Is this normal? How long does the grogginess last? Should I keep taking it? my depression is bad. I tried zoloft but it gave me severe diarrhea.

I took Lexapro for 3 years. I was groggy with it so I took it before bedtime and had no more problems. As for the hives, I would call your doctor and just let him/her know what is going on-that way if you break out worse or anything more serious happens they will know what it may be from. Side effects for me usually wear off in about 2 weeks if I am steadily taking something. If the hives are unbearable I would just ask the Dr. for some help....he/she should be able to give something for the hives.
