Question:

What is the difference between and SSRI and a tetracyclic anti depressent?

How do each work?..... and what one is better for what kind of case of mental illness or depression?

Answers:

All you really need to know is SSRIs are newer, more effective and have fewer side effects and drug interactions. Some of the old tricyclics are still used, mostly for off label purposes like OCD.
