I need help. i have a psychological disorder called codependency.?
i asked a previous yahoo question and one of the answers made me realize that i have this psychological issue called codependency. i'm really scared. what do i do now? i went online to look and i've pretty much checked all the symptoms related to this issue. do i go see a psychologist or a psychiatrist with this? can this be cured? i never realized how serious this is. i've never realized i'd have a psychological issue. i'm really scared. can someone, maybe an expert or someone who knows anything about this please give me some advice?

There are 2 wonderful books called Co-Dependent NO MORE!!!
And there are coda support groups.
If it involves someone you love and drugs or alcohol, go to al-anon meetings or look it up on msn groups, they have codependent online support.
1. you are not a freak
2. you are not alone
3. you did not cause this problem
4. there is simple techniques to help you.
5. Is it your problem?
6. Are you minding your own business?
7. YOU cannot control what other's think or do
8. live and let go
9. find affirmations to help yourself, a. I am aware b. I am worthy c. I believe in myself d. I am perfect just as I am
e. I am self sufficent
10. support groups vary, try many.........and a therapist won't hurt, just make sure the dr. is a co-dependent doctor who specializes in that area. interview your pyschologist on the phone.
we who have lived thru this coda problem and come out the other side free of pain and suffering, have a whole new lease on life!!
we didn't cause it, can't cure it, can't control it--
it is the other person.
we learn to live our own lives and find happiness and contintment and self worth and value.
give to those less fortunate, and be humble.
