What the hell is wrong with me?!

Question:

What the hell is wrong with me?

Why do I spend my time wanting what I can't have instead iof just getting on with it and appreciating what I have? How do I get my ar$e in gear and just move on?

Answers:

I can totally relate. You are very aware that you are blessed, and that you should be happy with what you have, but for some reason, you just are not satisfied. Many people are not aware of that, and that's where you are a step ahead.

People always want what they can't have. People aren't happy because they lack things. They are happy because they are satisfied with what they already have.

My thought, although I am still trying to figure out the same question, is that you need to picture yourself without the blessings you have. Look at others who are less fortunate, imagine yourself in their shoes, and it will hopefully make you appreciate your life more.

Another way people learn to appreciate what they have is by losing it. You don't know what you have until you lose it. Look at Paris Hilton... Not until she went to jail did she realize that her wealth and status was a blessing that she could use for good. Read this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070611/en_...

Okay, well, maybe Paris Hilton is not the best example because I don't know how sincere she is.

Anyway, I don't know if I answered your question, but I just wanted to let you know I'm struggling with the same thing. Why am I not happy with what I have when I know I have every reason to be?

We just have to keep looking at perspectives of other's less fortunate or imagine how it feels to lose everything we have... until we can finally truly appreciate our blessings.
