Is it okay if I tell my mom I think I am depressed through a note?!
Question:
Is it okay if I tell my mom I think I am depressed through a note?
My mom is the person I am closest to in my family. I am depressed. She told my brother and I that if we ever needed to talk to her we could. I feel awkward talking to her about my problems in person and I think I am depressed. I have a way with words on paper and have been told I am a good writer. I would like to have a good self esteem and a happy life before it's too late. Can I tell her that I am depressed through a note?
Answers:
I think its a great idea. Sometimes it's much easier to communicate through writing. You can say whatever you want and are less likely to forget important details or feelings. Also it gives the other person a chance to fully absorb everything before responding. As a mom, I can say that I would really appreciate my kids writing to me rather than not talking at all.
I'm sure your mom will be relieved that you are putting your trust in her and giving her a chance to help you (it's every mothers dream). Good luck sweetheart, I wish you all the best.
