I need help finding mental health counceling in my area.?

I live in Salinas, California and I need to know where I can get FREE Counceling or ways to find it. I dont know any resources and I dont know how to start looking. Can you help me out?

If you are by chance receiving Medi-Cal benefits at all then you are able to also get mental health services through them for free as well.
However, if you do not have Medi-Cal, an excellent source for resources in your area is to dial 211 from any area code, free of charge.
This will connect you with United Way and they may be able to provide you with places that offer free counseling or perhaps work on a sliding scale. They also have information for food, clothing, housing, etc. if you ever need it or know someone else who does.
