Pad, it definitely depends on the illness, but they both suffer, it's incredibly difficult to see a loved one enduring a serious illness and watch treatment and recovery , or God forbid a terminal illness, so we have to take the measure to let out our emotions (not in front of the patient) and re gain strength so that we can be a good support system, Now even though it's hard we must NEVER loose sight of being Sympathetic with the "patient" They are really the ones enduring the feelings both physical and emotional , And to presume to suffer more than them is extremely insensitive.
They need all the love , support and positivity they can get to make it through , whatever they re battling. BE STRONG!
