What does "Al-Anon" stand for?

I am familiar with the concept of Al-Anon -- what I do not know is what the phrase "Al-Anon" actually means/stands for.


Answers:

Al-Anon is a shorted version of Alcoholics (Al)-Anonymous (Anon). This was to let people know that they were affiliated with AA, but not a part of AA.
